Unlike the other libraries of the 'Databases' section, which reflect the real holdings of a real institution, academy, or single person, the 'Lives' library is an abstraction.

It is a virtual library and contains the largest possible number of biographies - Vite - on artists, jurists, physicians, scholars, scientists, published in Italy from 1400 to 1730.

The database is very heavy and the first upload may take 4-5 minutes. You can restrict the esearch by typing the string 'Vite di artisti' into the 'Content' field.
